NVQ1 Performing Engineering Operations (Plumbing)

What will I study?
This course will develop your understanding of working in the Plumbing Industry and specialises in domestic installation. You will develop skills in the following areas: working safely in the construction environment; developing yourself and working with others on construction activities; carrying out pipe fitting activities and making components using handtools and fitting techniques. The practical element will be to undertake basic domestic plumbing activities to the appropriate regulations and to shape and assemble pipework using a range of connection techniques. Support will be provided for the development of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. These are an integral part of the course.

You need:
GCSE grades C - F including English & Maths. Applicants will be required to undertake an initial assessment of both practical and academic ability and attend an interview which will be conducted prior to the offer of a place.

What can it lead to?
Employment/Apprenticeship in Plumbing Industry and progress EMTA Level 2 PEO or progress to a City & Guilds 6129 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Level 2.
