Who is the course for?
People who are interested in getting started with social networking sites such as Facebook
What are the entry requirements?
None, however, a basic knowledge of computers and using the internet is expected
What will I study?
Different types of social networking sites Personal privacy and data protection How to set up a personal page Social networking jargon
How will I be taught?
Lectures, demonstration, Q&A Sessions, practical activities
What should I bring to the first class?
Notebook, pen and USB
What additional costs are there?
Students are able to save their work on the college student drive but anyone wishing to take their work away to practice etc should consider purchasing a USB memory stick. These can be bought at the Learning Centre as well as computer shops and the Internet
How do I enrol?
In person at the Harrow on the Hill or Harrow Weald Campus By telephone (using the credit card line - Tel 020 8909 6300)
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment but guidance and feedback will be given throughout the course
Course Offer Conditions
Harrow College normally runs courses that are offered. However, courses that do not recruit to a satisfactory level may be withdrawn or closed. Please note 80% attendance or better is required to secure a college attendance certificate where offered. Experienced staff in our central admissions office are available to offer you help on course choice and progression options. You are also welcome to access specialist careers information and advice at our two main campuses. In addition practical help and advice is available to those with a disability or learning need. If you need to improve your basic skills we can help here too .The College runs classes for students wishing to improve their written and spoken English and numeracy skills. Fees and Refund Policy
Fees payable are shown above or in the Lifelong Learning Guide. Details of the concessions available and who may qualify are shown on the fees page on the web site and in the Lifelong Learning Guide. If the college cancels a course before it starts you will be given a full refund. If a course closes for any reason the fees for the remaining part of the course will be refunded. If the college receives a written notice of withdrawal from you at least three working days before a class starts you will receive a refund of the tuition fees. All registration and examination fees are non-refundable. Residential and materials fees will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances.
